helium leak detection systems
We are
Seiler Vakuumtechnik!
Our name has been synonymous with innovative, high-performance helium leak detection systems for more than 35 years. Our mission is to combine experience and innovation in developing the most advanced helium leak detection solutions to ensure quality and safety in the key industries of our time.
Based on this, we can always provide and successfully implement the best technical and cost-efficient solution for the complex and demanding projects of our customers in the electrical engineering, automotive and refrigeration/air-conditioning industries. We see ourselves as a system provider and not only do we provide our customers with high-quality products, but also comprehensive solutions from a single source.
Our customers also benefit from comprehensive services, such as outsourced leak detection at a fee or the construction of customised test chambers for their helium leak detection systems.
This powerful portfolio, combined with our many years of experience and comprehensive expertise, has made us what we are today: one of the leading international manufacturers and suppliers of modern, stationary helium leak detection systems.

How we
operate
Clear, efficient processes and transparency are crucial for us and our customers. We believe that trust is built through openness and honesty. Our operating processes are designed to guarantee reliability and quality from start to finish.
An inside view of our processes provides you with planning security, enables a precise assessment of our performance and facilitates the coordination of joint projects. Our structured and well-organised processes minimise risks and promote efficient collaboration, which helps us move forward together.
The process
Every project begins with a customer enquiry, where we usually receive 3D data of the test specimen. This forms the basis of our collaboration. We then discuss your enquiry with you first to ensure that we understand every detail of your needs and requirements.
Our experience allows us to already give you an initial indication of where problems might arise and advise you on suitable alternative solutions.
Based on this insight, we prepare an initial proposal, which serves as a starting point for further technical discussions and any adjustments to the proposal. Once we are in agreement on the terms and conditions and we have received your order, our experts move into the design phase. This is where both the mechanical and electrical plans for your project are created, which go into production after careful inspection and your approval.
The manufactured parts are then assembled. The control system is programmed at the same time. We then subject the finished helium leak detection system to extensive testing under conditions that are as close to actual conditions as possible.
We then invite you to our premises in Dörlesberg, Germany, for a preliminary inspection.
Once you have checked and approved every detail, the system is dismantled, packed and then shipped to you. Your new helium leak detection system is then reassembled onsite and commissioned by our experienced fitters. This ensures that everything goes exactly according to plan.
Finally, the final inspection and acceptance by you marks the successful completion of our joint project. Every step along the way is backed by the experience, precision and passion of our team of experts to ensure that your expectations are not only met, but exceeded.

Quality +
Production
We always do our utmost best for our customers. That's why the golden thread of quality runs through all the phases of every single project. It starts with expert advice and precise scheduling (which we also keep). But all design and production processes are also subject to our high quality standards.
In line with this standard, we have been working in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 quality management system since 31 May 2006.
Every manufactured part is checked before delivery. The results are documented in a test report and made available to our customers on request. This enables us to ensure that our high quality standard is maintained, even with more than 40 systems manufactured and delivered by us every year.
The practical implications for is that we are only satisfied when you are.
When you visit our production halls, you will become aware of what we mean by attention to detail and quality in everything you see. Our employees form the backbone of our commitment: trained, experienced and with a deep-rooted passion for precision. Together with our modern machinery, they ensure that every system that leaves our halls deserves the "Made by Seiler" stamp.
We are proud to say that 95% of every Seiler helium leak detection system is manufactured in-house. This high level of vertical integration enables us to guarantee a consistently high standard of quality and ensure that all functional components work together seamlessly.
And while every screw and every cable passes through the hands of our experts, we also ensure that the few purchased components, such as vacuum pumps and leak detectors, also meet this high standard. That's why we only use quality parts from renowned manufacturers, because quality attracts quality.
And, of course, we rigorously test every helium leak detection system in real-life conditions after completion. This way, our customers can be sure that they are receiving technology that is just as robust and reliable as the relationship we have with them.
A side note: of the approximately 1,000 helium leak detection systems delivered in 35 years, about 95% are still in use. There is no clearer proof of quality.

service
Our service professionals know your system inside out. There's literally no question about helium leak detection that they can't answer. And there is no problem that our specialists cannot solve.
Our worldwide support centres enable us to respond quickly and efficiently to your needs, no matter where you are in the world. Because when a machine breaks down, time is of the essence.
We always keep the most important components in our warehouses ready for any repairs. So no time is lost. Our experienced experts will then repair your system as quickly as possible and ensure that it is back in operation in no time. If necessary, our boss, Markus Seiler, will even come to personally take care of your helium leak detection system.
We also offer the option of remote maintenance on request. This enables us to respond to many problems without having to be physically on site. This is an invaluable advantage, especially in urgent cases or under current global circumstances. It allows us to intervene directly and easily, identify any challenges and implement solutions.
For us, the customer always comes first. Our service team is available and ready to ensure that your production runs smoothly, efficiently and without unnecessary interruptions. A service grounded not only in decades of experience, but also on our desire to always achieve the best for and with our customers.

Helium
leak detection
Leak testing with helium is an important part of quality management for our customers that ensures high product reliability. It is one of the most reliable methods used in the detection of pores, air pockets or cracks, for example. Short test cycles, fast cycle times and high sensitivity are key advantages in industrial applications.
The natural properties of helium makes it perfectly suited as a tracer gas for leak tests:
- It is non-toxic
- It is lighter than air and poses no health risk in an open system
- It is inert (non-flammable, non-explosive)
- The helium atom is one of the smallest atoms with high diffusivity, which means that it can escape even through very small leaks
The integral test procedure within a leak test system is as follows:
- The test specimen is placed in a vacuum test chamber and clamped
- The vacuum chamber is closed
- The vacuum chamber is evacuated using a vacuum pump
- The gross leak measurement in the test specimen is carried out at the same time by means of pressure decay and a downstream internal evacuation step
- Now the helium background measurement takes place
- The chamber is then pressurised to the required test pressure
- The vacuum chamber is then ventilated again
- At the end, the test specimen is re-evacuated internally
The following test sequences can be called up via the control panel of our helium leak test systems:
- Integral leak detection with connected test gas supply
- Integral leak detection for bombarded components
- Sniffer mode with connected test gas supply
